World Cup fever in Argentina
Since football is the biggest sport in Argentina – some might even say a religion – and the World Cup was taking place, we had the opportunity to make some reports for television and daily newspapers about the World Cup fever in Argentina, and so, catch the fanatism of the Argentinian fans on the road to the final.
For RTL Nieuws we made a couple of television reports.
We visited the town of eventually the best player of the World Cup Lionel Messi. In Rosario we visited Messi’s first club Newell’s Old Boys.
The way Argentinians live through a World Cup match is uncanning. Football runs through their veins. We watched the semi-final game with them in a community center in Buenos Aires. And yes, we lost…
And for the final we went to Parque Centenario in the middle of Buenos Aires to witness Argentina’s loss against Germany.
Peter and Remi also wrote several articles for Dutch newspapers.
